A meeting this past weekend with the Western Hockey League has left the City of Moose Jaw with a better idea of what the league wants when it comes to a new facility and upgrades to the Civic Centre.

Mayor Al Schwinghamer tells us he and members of City Council met with League Commissioner Ron Robison to discuss the multiplex project.

"We had an excellent meeting with Mr. Robison and he certainly is very concerned about the upgrading of the facilities within the WHL, especially from the smaller market teams. He went over the fact that Swift Current is going ahead with theirs, Prince Albert is going ahead with their renovations and it is about time Moose Jaw makes a decision."

While a deadline for a project plan was mentioned at the meeting this weekend, Mayor Schwinghamer was not willing to divulge a date because talks between the city and the WHL are ongoing.
