RCMP have charged a Regina woman with human smuggling after a four month investigation.

Officials say 43 year old Michelle Omoruyi was caught at the border with nine foreign nationals in her vehicle around 9 o'clock on the evening of April 14th.  The Canadian Border Services Agency says the people in her vehicle were from west Africa and have since claimed asylum.

The investigation started back in December as more and more people fled the United States, claiming they were fearing the new crack down on immigrants.  A man was questioned at the border December 23rd leading to a suspect being identified.
