Evenwalk Concrete in Moose Jaw is now owned and operated by Shea Evans who has settled back in the city where he grew up.

If you go to EvenWalk.ca you can read all about the services and materials they offer for the do-it-yourselfers in and around Moose Jaw.

Evans says it's the simplest way to finish your concrete projects.  They have 5 U-Carts available for ready-mix concrete.  You tow the cart yourself, place the concrete, wash out the cart and return it to their yard.

Evans is pleased to be back at home.

"I was born and raised in Moose Jaw and always worked in the family business, Evans Florist, but left when I was about 20 years old to work in the oil fields in Alberta.  I came back to Moose Jaw last October when I got an opportunity to run a business here," he said.

"My parents are Alvin and Lana Evans.  It was actually my grandfather and my two great uncles' business - Evans Florist.  They put me to work there before I can even remember," Evans laughed.

Evans just got Evenwalk Concrete up and running in the spring, selling precast products and offering one-yard concrete trailers for use in Moose Jaw and the surrounding area.

"We offer the trailers - you come pick it up with a vehicle capable of handling at least 4,000 pounds and you take it to your job site or your house, wherever you're doing your little concrete project and you pour the concrete yourself, finish it and just bring the trailer back.  And, if you're looking for precast products, we sell patio pavers and some other things," Evans explained.

Evenwalk Concrete starts with "state of the art mixing technology that ensures accuracy for quantity and consistency" along with "high-quality chemicals admixtures from BASF Master Builders" and "high quality, sulfate resistant cement powder and good, clean aggregates with excellent final strength".

Evans says it's best to start with a phone call.

"Yes, you can call me first at 306 630 5454 and I'll help you out with the pricing and how much you're going to need."

Evans says it's all about saving a little money and that starts with being well organized.

"It's certainly possible to do small jobs yourself but it's absolutely easier if you have helpers.  Once the concrete is out of the cart, we ask customers to wash it out with a pressure washer or a garden hose.  The cart needs to be emptied, washed out and returned within a three-hour period.  The carts hold one yard of concrete," Evans explained.

Evans says you'll definitely need a truck to tow the concrete cart and you should check out the towing capacity maximum for your hitch before you get started.

And while Evans recommends you discuss your plans with him a day or two before you dive into your concrete project there's always someone available if you need service in a hurry.

"Our business hours are 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM, 7 days a week," Evans said.

Evans also wants you to know, if you don't have the proper tools, he can help you out.

"Absolutely.  We have steel trowels, hand floats, edgers...Pull extensions, shovels, finishing brooms, wheelbarrows... And if you need two-inch balls and hitches, we have those as well."

Evans says it's all about setting customers up for success.  He and his staff will take the time to show you how to operate the concrete cart before you drive away.

"It's pretty simple, actually.  The cart has a hydraulic cylinder.  You just hand pump it and the cart will lift up and there's a gate at the back," Evans explained.  "You'll definitely save some money... Especially if you book a trailer on a weekend."
