The City of Moose Jaw is telling us our new bridge is almost ready for action.  City Hall issued the following news release:

Moose Jaw – Construction of a new 1st Avenue SE bridge in Moose Jaw is nearing completion. The $2.0 million project, which included the demolition of the old bridge, began in June. Selected contractor PCL Construction will install the new deck & curbs, gutters and sidewalk railings by approximately October 5, weather permitting.

The project, including paving, is estimated to be complete by October 30, 2018, weather permitting.

During construction, northbound light traffic on 1st Ave SE is being diverted west at River Drive, with the southbound lane used for two-way traffic between River Drive and Manitoba St. Vehicle access to Wakamow Valley via River Drive will also be blocked during construction. Signage and barricades remain in place. During the construction period, northbound heavy-vehicle traffic is being detoured west at the 15 Wing entrance and can access the city on 9th Avenue. Access to the Trans-Canada Highway and Highway 2 North is available via Highway 363 and 32nd Avenue SW. Signage is in place. Drivers and pedestrians are encouraged to use caution in the area and to obey all posted detours and signs.

Thank you for your patience while the City works to rebuild the infrastructure to ensure reliable services for our residents.
