Well, the numbers don't blow my mind and my jaw did not drop.  However, I did raise my eyebrows a few times.  You might do the same.

The latest batch of data from the 2016 census is out with a focus on family, households, marital status and language.

The average Canadian household has 2.4 people these days.  Interesting; it was 5.6 people back in 1871.

The kids are still staying home longer.  35% of Canadians aged 20 to 34 were living with at least one parent last year.

28% of Canadian households are comprised of a single person.  It's now the most common living arrangement in Canada for the first time ever.

7.6 million Canadians speak a language other than English or French, an increase of over 14%.  The fastest-growing language?  Tagalog, which might be more commonly referred to as Filipino.
