You know, we know, the unemployment rate always makes the news...seemingly more than news about job vacancy rates.  I don't know why that is.

I find it interesting to read there are more than 400,000 unfilled jobs across the country right now - 7200 of them in Saskatchewan.

These are private sector jobs, according to the Canadian Federation of Independent Business.  

They tell us that small businesses are feeling pressure of prolonged job vacancies and some are responding with wage increases and adjustments to product lines and capital spending.  Job vacancy rates are rising in the personal services sector and in the construction industry.

If you go to DiscoverMooseJaw.com you'll find dozens of local jobs available including some that many of us would have jumped on when we got out of high school in the 80s. 

It seems to me, unless there are extenuating circumstances, if you're unemployed in Moose Jaw, you're not trying hard enough.
