It has happened again.  A semi-trailer unit with a load too high hit the Highway #2 overpass while travelling along the Trans Canada Highway on Moose Jaw's north side.  It happens frequently.  

I don't know how much money the repairs add up to but it's safe to say hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years.

Reaction to the story on DiscoverMooseJaw.com is colourful to say the least.  

One man named Matt, obviously a trucker, wrote:  "I came through there with an oversized load not long ago and didn't realize I was a bit too high but the flashing lights and the big screen that says "LOAD TOO HIGH - EXIT NOW" sure caught my eye quick..."

Another guy, Kip, writes, "Time to start increasing fines for not paying attention and knowing their load heights".

Agreed, Kip, and perhaps 100% restitution would be in order.  I'm sure we taxpayers have paid more than our share for repairs.
