As I recall, Canada's most famous groundhog predicted an early spring.  Wiarton Willie was wrong.  Shubenacadie Sam got it right.  At least he was honest - no false hope from Sam.

Groundhog Day was February 2nd.  It's March 5th and we're just about to climb out of the deep freeze after one of the coldest months of February on record and a blustery start to March.

It's interesting to note, while the Old Farmer's Almanac predicted temperatures last month would be slightly above normal, they also called for four cold snaps.  It turns out those cold snaps just kind of joined up and never went away.

The Almanac's March forecast calls for below average temperatures with above average snowfall.  And, while April will start with some warm sun and rain showers, the Almanac is also predicting a "snowstorm" between April 20th and 26th.

I'm sorry.  I just thought you'd like to know.
