We used to get it every day. We took it for granted. Mail. I'm talking about mail. Cards and letters from people we don't even know. It doesn't happen much anymore so it's special when it does.
It was this past Friday when I carefully opened the most beautiful envelope I've ever seen. Doris Ivers decorated it with a free-hand, ink drawing of a female announcer at a CHAB microphone.
Inside, the "thank you" card is from her aunt, Doris Wright. Niece Doris says her aunt turned 88 earlier this month over at Extendicare and she won the birthday bouquet on the Evans Florist Birthday and Anniversary Show on CHAB.
Doris writes, "My Aunt has difficulty speaking so she asked me to send a most cheerful written thank you to everyone at CHAB...Having her name said on the radio gave her a twinkle in her eye."
Oh, by the way, you can see the special envelope on the CHAB Facebook page. Have a look and you'll see why it's a keeper.
Thank you, Doris.
