So, the people at Voices.com reached out to me recently to see if I'd be interested in having Sean Gurnsey on the show.  I'd heard about this guy - a young Moose Jaw man who makes a living with his voice, crafting commercials on TV and radio and doing character voices for video games and cartoons.

So, we set it up.  Sean and I had a good talk before he told his story.  It's a remarkable story of resiliency and achievement.  It wasn't long ago Sean was very ill, having contracted Lyme disease.  As he recovered he had to find a way to make a living.  He was too weak for anything physically demanding.

So, Sean, who used to imitate people and change his voice just for fun, gave voice acting a try, auditioning for a number of jobs.  He got some of those jobs and continues to expand his repertoire and get paid for having fun.  In fact, if you've ever seen the cartoon series "Veggie Tales", you'll know Larry the Cucumber.  Sean does his voice.

What brought this story home for me was the fact Sean and I met each other when he was but a boy.  He used to attend Warriors games at the old Civic Centre with his mom, the late Doreen Gurnsey.  She was Warriors mascot, "Puckhead".

Now I know...the rest of the story.
