BLANCHARD

Louis Rene Blanchard aged 91 of Moose Jaw passed away on Thursday April 28, 2022 with his companion, Elizabeth Sadowski by his side. Louis was born Sept 20, 1930 to Emile and Delvina Blanchard. He lived with the family on his father’s homestead north-west of Coderre. After his education he worked for several farmers. In 1950 he stated farming on his own building a heard of cattle and eventually settling in the Parkbeg area, where he farmed until 1995. After retiring he moved to Moose Jaw, where he enjoyed his new life. He danced, watched wrestling and hockey, gardened, and took great pleasure polishing his Buick and maintaining his house. He became known to his neighbors for sharing his bountiful harvest of apples. He lived his life as a quiet, gentle man of deep faith, on his terms, in his own very special unique way. He was predeceased by his parents Emile and Delvina Blanchard; siblings Maurice (Dorothy), Lucienne (George), Lucien (Pearl), Roland (Florence), Hubert (Elaine), Gabrielle, Raymond (Elizabeth), Richard (Maryetta) and brother-in-law Ray Daniel. He is survived by one sister Delores Daniel and several nieces and nephews and their families. We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff at Extendicare for the exceptionally good care he was given throughout his stay.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday May 3, 2022, at 1:30PM at St. Aiden Anglican Church, 124 1st Ave NE, Moose Jaw, SK. In living memory of Louis, a memorial planting will be made by W.J.
