On the back of strong pitching from Kaleb Waller, the Moose Jaw 18U AAA Canucks were able to split a Sunday doubleheaders in Martensville against the Sask5 Giants.

The Canucks struggled in game 1, losing 14-4. Kyle Duncan got the start on the mound and went 3.2 innings before Caleb Newkirk came in relief.

Despite the loss, Cole Breitkreuz had a good game at the plate, going three-for-three with an RBI.

Moose Jaw was able to rebound in game two, winning 10-5.

The game was tied 2-2 when the bats came alive for eight runs over the next four innings, while the defense only allowed three runs in the bottom of the seventh.

Waller got the start and nearly went the distance, pitching five innings and only allowing two runs and five strikeouts. Cam O'Reilly closed out the game for the Canucks.

The 18U AAA's are back in action when they host the White Butte Broncos at 7 p.m. at Ross Wells Park.
