The Moose Jaw AAA Canucks were able to split a Sunday doubleheader at Ross Wells Park against the Saskatoon Giants.

Moose Jaw opened the series with a 19-14 win over the Giants.

The Canucks found themselves down 14-12 heading into the bottom of the sixth inning when Moose Jaw put seven running across home plate. Saskatoon was held off the scoresheet in the top of the seventh to finish the game.

Game two saw Saskatoon come back to beat the Canucks 11-6 in extra innings.

Moose Jaw was down 4-2 after two innings of play, but score single runs in the fourth and fifth innings to tie up the game.

Both teams would exchange runs in the sixth inning to tie up the game 5-5.

A scoreless inning would send the game into the eighth, and extra, inning. Saskatoon’s bats would come alive to score six in the top of the eighth, while Moose Jaw could only come up with one run.

The 18U AAA Canucks are back in action on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Ross Wells Park when they take on the Swift Current 57s.
