Despite the rainy weather, there was one Moose Jaw baseball team in action on Thursday night in Regina, as the 18U AAA Canucks dropped a 6-5 extra innings decision to the White Sox.

Moose Jaw found themselves down 5-2 after five innings of play when the Canucks scored three runs in the sixth inning to force extra innings.

The Canucks were blanked in the top of the eighth inning, and the White Sox managed to get the walk-off run.

Offensively, Evan Callaghan had a strong night, going four-for-four at the plate.

Nathan Varjassy got the start for the Canucks and went three innings before Cam O’Reilly came in relief.

The Canucks are back in action on Sunday when they play a doubleheader against the Sask5 Giants in Martensville. They return home Tuesday night to host the White Butte Broncos at 7 p.m. at Ross Wells Park.
