The visiting Moose Jaw A's took a 14-5 win over the Regina Mudhens Saturday to make it into the North Regina Little League Major AA final against the Clippers.

Takeo Smith and Colton Lacelle went three-for-three at the plate, driving home a combined eight runs, while Smith and Sara Umana both pitched well on the mound.

“The kids played great, our pitchers didn’t have their top stuff all game but the defence was there to help out when called upon,” coach Cortney Lacelle said in an email. “We played an all-around team game Saturday. Every player knew what we were asking of them and they did their job.”

With Moose Jaw in the driver's seat, game one of that double-elimination final goes Wednesday. A win there will give the Rockies the league title. North Regina Little League’s Facebook page will have the game live, starting at 5 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Moose Jaw Rockies won 8-3 over the Regina Royals last night in Regina to make it into the league final in the intermediate, junior and senior division.

Moose Jaw holds the hammer while game one of the double-elimination tournament is Thursday.
