Moose Jaw's Skylar Ackerman and the host rink finished the round robin on a high note at the 2019 Canadian Junior Women's Curling Championship in Prince Albert on Tuesday.

The local team scored a dominating 15-0 win over Team Nunavut to secure their first win at the national championship.

After blanking the first end, Ackerman proceeded to score four in the second, two in the third, three in the fourth, two in the fifth, one in the sixth, two in the seventh and one more in the eighth to finish off the win.

The win puts the Ackerman rink at 1-5 in pool play at Junior Nationals. They will now move into the Seeding Pool and return to the ice against Newfoundland and Labrador (2-4) at 2 p.m. on Wednesday.

The Championship Pool's eight teams are set with Alberta leading the way at 6-0, while Manitoba, British Columbia, and Quebec sit at 5-1. Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick enter the pool at 4-2 and Northern Ontario is 3-3.

Alberta takes on Quebec and Manitoba goes up against B.C. at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
