The Assiniboia Southern Rebels of the Prairie Junior Hockey League have asked for a one-year leave of absence from that league.

They made the announcement on social media, saying the impact of COVID-19 has quote ‘more unknowns than knowns", in asking for the break.

The PJHL said that all 11 other teams are committed to playing the 2020-2021 season under the parameters set by Sask Health Authority, Hockey Canada and the Saskatchewan Hockey Association.
