The Moose Jaw Astros are one win away from capturing the North Regina Little League's Minor AAA Division title.

The Astros beat the Regina Mariners, 17-10, on Monday night and they will need to knock off the Mariners one more time to capture the league title.

Tyson Ross reached base all three times that he came to the plate and came around to score three runs in the high scoring affair on Monday.

The Astros and Mariners will meet for Game 2 of the league final on Wednesday night in the Queen City.

The Moose Jaw Mallards had everything working on Monday night in a dominating 10-0 win over the Regina White Sox at Swarbrick Diamond to close out the regular season in the Baseball Regina Bantam AA Division.

The win capped off a busy four-day stretch for the Mallards that saw them pick up three wins and a tie over four games.

Nate Varjassy struck out six over five shutout innings to pick up the win on the mound for the Mallards.

Varjassy, Cam O'Reilly and Evan Callaghan picked up two RBI each in the win.

The Mallards have now won four of their last five league games and are unbeaten over that stretch as they prepare for the league playoffs this weekend in Regina.

The Moose Jaw Canucks returned to the win column on Monday night in the Queen City with an 8-4 win over the Regina Pacers in the Saskatchewan Premier Baseball League.

Riley Skarbon struck out four over six innings of work to pick up the win on the mound.

The Canucks scored in each of the first four innings, but they trailed 4-3 heading into the fourth inning. Moose Jaw exploded for four runs in the fourth and then added one more in the sixth for the win.

Ryan Zerff drove the engine from the lead off spot for the Canucks, finishing 3-for-5 with a double, triple, two RBI and one run scored.

Tyler Lorenz was 2-for-4 with a triple, two runs scored and an RBI.

The Canucks are now 7-10-1 this season. They return to the field next Wednesday to host the Weyburn Beavers at Ross Wells Park.
