Two third period goals helped the Moose Jaw Atom A Warriors take down the Hockey Regina Atom A League's top team on Thursday night.

After losing last Friday to the Regina Buffaloes, the Warriors went into the Queen City and came away with a 5-4 win at the Cooperators Centre, handing the Buffaloes their first loss of the season.

Austin Woodley and Rowan Calvert scored just over two minutes apart midway through the third period to give the Warriors the lead and eventually the win.

The two teams traded goals in the first period with Liam Fitzpatrick scoring twice in the frame for the Warriors.

A pair of goals from Regina's Jasper Woodard gave the Buffaloes a 4-3 lead after two periods with Curtis Smith picking the Warriors' lone goal in the frame.

The Warriors are now 3-3-1 in league play. They're back on the ice on Saturday against the Regina Mustangs at the Bert Hunt Arena, puck drops at 1:15pm.
