The Moose Jaw Atom A Warriors are looking for some redemption on Thursday night when they take on the Regina Buffaloes in the Queen City.

The Warriors lost 6-4 to the Buffaloes last Friday in Hockey Regina action and head coach Steve Michaluk says they're looking forward to facing them again.

“We played alright, but we were a little undisciplined that game, which we haven't seen this year,” he said. “We've addressed that we took way too many penalties, way too far from our net, so hopefully we can clean that up.”

Liam Fitzpatrick and Rowan Calvert each scored twice in the loss for Moose Jaw, but the focus for the team since that game has been on making sure that they stay out of the box going into the rematch.

Michaluk said it's nice to face the same team again.

“Now we know what to expect from the other team,” he said. “We worked hard in that game, so hopefully we can turn things around a little bit and have a more disciplined game this time around.”

The Warriors have posted a 2-3-1 record in league play so far this year and Michaluk said he's happy with the progress that the players have shown in the early part of the year.

“We're having fun, we're learning and coming together as a team,” he said. “We've actually played 17 games already, including our exhibition games and a tournament we had in Swift Current, so we've been busy and hopefully that will help us out in our league play.”

The Warriors will head into Regina on Thursday night to face the Buffaloes. Puck drop is at 7:30pm at the Cooperators Centre.
