The Moose Jaw Atom Tier 1 Warriors couldn't hold on to a 3-1 lead on Wednesday night in Balgonie, eventually losing 7-4 to the Prairie Storm Thunder in Moose Jaw Minor Hockey action.

Moose Jaw was riding high in the first period, going up 2-0 on goals by Jaxsen Wiebe and Nolan Jones.

Jaydon Dureau pulled Balgonie within one with just 59 seconds to go in the opening frame, but Moose Jaw's Connor Large restored the two goal lead just nine seconds later.

The second period was where things turned for the Warriors though, as they gave up four goals to the Thunder and fell behind 5-3.

Reece Newkirk scored for Moose Jaw in the third, but goals from Taylor Johnson and Zack Ulsifer sealed the win for the Prairie Storm.

Wiebe was the top performer for Moose Jaw, picking up a goal and three points.  Dureau led all scorers with two goals and four points.  Ulsifer had a hat trick and four points as well for the Thunder.

The Atom Tier 1 Warriors return to the ice on January 7th when they head to Regina to take on the Blackhawks.
