A hard fought game ended in a loss for the Moose Jaw Warriors on Sunday afternoon in the Saskatchewan Bantam AA Hockey League.

Moose Jaw's Tyler Lorenz scored just 48 seconds into the game, but that would be the Warriors' only lead of the game as they lost 5-3 to the Regina Aces at the Cooperators Centre.

The Warriors also got goals from Ben Wourms-Rowe and Logan Hauser in the loss, while Skyler Sangster led the charge for Regina with a hat trick.

After the strong start by Moose Jaw, Eric Pearce and Sangster put Regina in front 2-1 after the first period. Sangster's second of the game came shorthanded just 3:59 into the second period.

Wourms-Rowe scored late in the second to pull Moose Jaw back within one going into the third, but Sangster again burnt the Warriors with an early shorthanded goal in the third period. The Aces followed up that with Johnny Carmichael making it a 5-2 lead just over five minutes into the third.

Wiley Cozac took the loss in goal for Moose Jaw, while the Warriors' special teams let the team down, going 0-for-4 on the power play and allowing two shorthanded goals.

Moose Jaw drops to 6-15-4 on the year with the loss. They're back on the ice Sunday against the Saskatoon Frostbite at the Red Knight Arena, puck drops at 1:15 p.m.
