Two goals each from Sidney Ellingson and Janelle Evans helped lead the Moose Jaw Bantam A Mavericks past the Regina Bisons, 5-1, on Thursday night at the Bert Hunt Arena.

The win improves the Mavericks to 3-0-0 this season in the Saskatchewan Female Hockey League.

Evans and Ember Dusomme scored for the Mavericks in the first period to make it 2-0 after one.

After Regina's Mya Gall cut the lead down to one just 3:54 into the second, Moose Jaw responded quickly with Ellingson scoring her first of the night, shorthanded, only 55 seconds later.

Evans picked up her second of the game with 1:42 to play in the second period and then Ellingson slide in her second late in the third period to seal the victory.

Sydnee Christmann had to make just eight saves for the win in goal, while the Mavericks peppered the Bisons' net with 57 shots of their own.

The Mavericks are back on the ice on Sunday night when they face the Regina Shamrocks at the Cooperators Centre in the Queen City. Puck drops at 6:15 p.m.
