Moose Jaw Minor HockeyA three-goal second period was more than enough for the Moose Jaw Warriors on Thursday night in the Regina Bantam Tier 2 Hockey League.

The Warriors skated past the Regina Penguins 3-0 for their fifth straight win in league play.

The two teams battled through a scoreless first period, but the Warriors exploded in the second frame.  Zachary Wakeford opened the scoring 2:46 into the middle frame, then Kody Morales added to the lead just 3:11 later and Taylor Blackmore finished off the scoring late in the frame.

That was all the offence that the Warriors were going to need to propel themselves to the win with Jacob Winowich making 30 saves for the shutout, his third of the season.

The win improves the Warriors record to 13-1-2 on the year.  They're back on the ice on Sunday night in Regina against the Stars.  Puck drops at 8:00pm at the Cooperators Centre.
