After losing just once during the regular season, the Penny Barker rink reigned supreme on Wednesday night in the Original 16 Cash League.

The Barker rink captured the 2017-18 league championship with a 7-5 win over the Joel Jordison team to close out the season at the Moose Jaw Ford Curling Centre.

Barker opened the scoring in the final with three in the second and Jordison was able to answer back with two in the third.

After Barker settled for a single in the fourth, Jordison tied the game at 4-4 with a deuce in the fifth. The two sides traded singles in the next two ends to head to the eighth tied at 5-5.

Barker scored two in the seventh to take the win and the league title.

In other action on Wednesday night, Bob Desjarlais topped Ben Gamble, 10-3; Donna Ackerman won 4-2 over Shaunna Fritzler; Barb Wallace scored an 8-4 win over Ralph Courtnage; Ryan Wenarchuk rolled to a 7-1 win over Patrick Ackerman; Stan Barnsley beat Murray Stroeder, 6-5, with five points in the final two ends; Lorraine Arguin edged Joe Gunnis, 7-2; and Wade Gray scored a 9-3 victory over Warren Marcotte.
