For the second time this season, a Moose Jaw Warrior is walking away with a WHL weekly player award.

Warriors forward Brayden Burke was named WHL Player of the Week on Monday after posting five goals and 12 points in four wins for the Warriors over the past week.

Burke, 20, opened his week by posting a hat trick and four points in the Warriors’ 6-5 shootout win over the Prince Albert Raiders last Tuesday. He followed that up with a three-assist performance in a 4-1 win over his former team, the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

The Edmonton, Alberta product continued to roll going into the weekend, scoring twice and adding an assist in the Warriors’ 4-0 win over Saskatoon and then he notched two more assists in a 4-1 win in Regina on Saturday.

Since joining the Warriors in a trade with Lethbridge back in November, Burke has been on an absolute tear, registering eight goals and 34 points in 21 games with Moose Jaw. He sits sixth in the WHL scoring race with 57 points in 36 games this season.

Burke and the Warriors host the Tri-City Americans on Tuesday at Mosaic Place.
