Team Canada was golden at the 2018 Hlinka Gretzky Cup in Edmonton this weekend.

Canada skated to a 6-2 win over Sweden on Saturday at Rogers Place to capture their third straight gold at the summer under-18 tournament.

Moose Jaw Warriors general manager Alan Millar led the management group for Team Canada at the tournament.

Tri-City Americans forward Sasha Mutala and Rimouski Oceanic forward Alexis Lafrenière scored twice each to help lead Canada to the gold medal.

Saskatoon Blades forward Kirby Dach and Medicine Hat Tigers forward Josh Williams had the other goals for Canada in the win.

There was 11 Western Hockey League players in total on Team Canada with Mutala, Dach and Williams being joined by goaltenders Taylor Gauthier of the Prince George Cougars and Nolan Maier from the Blades; defencemen Bowen Byram of the Vancouver Giants, Kaedan Korczak from the Kelowna Rockets, Edmonton Oil Kings's Matthew Robertson, Brandon Wheat Kings's Braden Schneider; and forwards Dylan Cozens of the Lethbridge Hurricanes and Peyton Krebs of the Kootenay Ice.

The Canadians actually trailed 2-0 just 11:33 into the game, but they came storming back with goals from Mutala, Dach and Lafrenière to take a 3-2 lead after one.

Mutala picked up his second in the second period to give Canada a two-goal advantage heading into the third. Williams and Lafrenière scored for Canada in the final frame to seal the win.

Canada has won the past three Hlinka Gretzky Cups and 22 of 28 tournaments since 1991.
