The 2012 Canada Cup of Curling continues to get closer and closer and as we approach the start date on November 28th, the need for volunteers is still there.

Event chair Danielle Sicinski says they still need about 40 more volunteers, "We need them in four different areas, which includes: the Patch Banking, getting the Patch facilities set up, the Patch Volunteers, which means actually serving the beer, and then security and accreditation."

The Canada Cup runs from November 28th until December 2nd at Mosaic Place with some of the top male and female curlers in Canada coming to town with the goal of qualifying for the 2013 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials.

As Sicinski explains, there are plenty of benefits to being a volunteer at the National curling event, "In return you get so much for volunteering, you get food coupons; you get an invitation to the exclusive opening banquet, which includes the teams participating; you get access to viewing the curling all weekend when you're not volunteering; and you get a shirt and jacket that you get to keep as a keepsake.

"We have another volunteer rally coming up on October 22nd and with all of our directors right now, we will be starting to make some schedules for all the different areas, so just to help out, the sooner we get all the volunteers signed up, the better."
