The Moose Jaw U18 AAA Canucks scored eight runs in the seventh inning Monday night at Ross Wells Park to blast the Regina A's 10-5.

Canucks head coach Ray Wareham watched that inning as his team executed some small ball with well-placed bunts, and some big swings that led to RBI.

"We've been playing pretty good lately, and mistakes have been hurting us but (Monday) night, it kind of went our way in the seventh inning," Wareham said.

The Canucks were the 'road' team for the game and batted first in the game, and the teams entered the final inning of the game tied 2-2. Nathan Varjassy led off and reached on an infield single. He advanced to third after a perfectly executed bunt from Dylan Montgomery led the A's pitcher to throw wildly to first base to get the lead out.

Orin Olson hit an infield single to get the first RBI in the inning and the Canucks were off to the races.

The Canucks' last hit of the lengthy seventh frame was an RBI single by Montgomery for his first hit of the season.

The Canucks also got a great start on the mound from Varjassy, who threw 102 pitches in over six-plus innings of work. Kyle Duncan completed the final inning as the A's got a few late runs.

The Canucks last game of the regular season is Tuesday night against the Swift Current 57s at the friendly confines of Ross Wells Park. The Canucks have been trying to organize an exhibition game or two this weekend but Wareham said nothing has been firmed up as of Monday night.
