The Moose Jaw Canucks and Regina Blue Jays have met three times in the last week in the Saskatchewan Premier Baseball League's Midget AA Division, two were blow outs and then there was Thursday night.

The two teams battled to a 7-7 tie to finish the extended three-game set with a 1-1-1 record.

Moose Jaw was in control early in the game, scoring four runs in the top of the first inning. The Blue Jays answered with three in the bottom half, but the Canucks came right back three more in the top of the second for a 7-3 advantage after two.

Regina cut the lead down to three with one in the fourth and then they scored three in the seventh to salvage the tie.

Chayce Vanthuyne was 2-for-4 with three RBI for the Canucks, while Ryan Zerff went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI. Riley Skarbon was also 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Zerff started the game for Moose Jaw and allowed three runs on three hits and two walks over two innings. All six outs came via the strikeout for Zerff.

Jeremy Kohl threw four innings, allowing three runs -- two earned -- on three hits with two strikeouts and one walk.

Vanthuyne finished the game giving up one run on two hits with a strikeout as he picked up the final three outs to hold the Blue Jays to just three runs in the seventh.

The Canucks are now 6-7-1 on the year. They're back on the road on Saturday to play a doubleheader against the Saskatoon Blue Jays in the Queen City.
