The Caronport Cougars walked away the champions over the weekend, topping 11 other teams to capture the Moose Jaw Senior Girls Volleyball Tournament title.

The Cougars knocked off Oxbow in the final on Saturday night, winning in two straight sets (25-18, 25-16).

In the semifinals, Caronport up ended the Peacock Toilers, who would go on to fall to Swift Current in the bronze medal game in three sets (25-15, 22-25, 15-11).

Caronport went 5-0 during the round robin without dropping a set to secure first place in their pool. Central was third in the pool after posting a 2-3 record with wins over Carlyle and Warman.  The Cyclones would go on to fall to Peacock in the quarterfinals in three sets (23-25, 25-17, 15-6).

In the other pool, Oxbow rolled to a 5-0 record without dropping a set as well.  Peacock finished second in the pool with a 4-1 record, losing in two sets (25-11, 25-16) to Oxbow.  Vanier was fourth in the pool with a 2-3 record, they lost out in the quarterfinals to Caronport on Saturday.

The Moose Jaw Senior Boys Volleyball Tournament goes this weekend with 16 teams in total taking part, including Central, Cornerstone, Peacock, Riverview and Vanier from the local league.
