The Central Cyclones Senior Boys Volleyball team was on the road this past weekend in Lumsden, where they came away with the title in the preseason tournament.

Head coach Shaune Gray says he likes the look of his team heading into the season, "We had a good weekend.  They stepped up and played very well.  We didn't have a lot of down time, but they were very consistent.

"A lot of our players played club volleyball and half the starting lineup played on the provincial team, so we have a big head start this year."

Gray says the tournament was good for them to work out some kinks as they get set to open the High School Volleyball season on Tuesday night, "We got to see some of the flaws that we do have, some of our weaknesses, but on a whole, it was a good first weekend for us."

The Cyclones open their 2012 season against Riverview at home on Tuesday.   Peacock's boys and girls squads are on the road in Avonlea for other Senior Volleyball action.
