In a release by the CFL, it announced on May 19 that it is rescheduling the pre-season game between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the visiting Winnipeg Blue Bombers that was planned for Monday, May 23 to a new date and time: Tuesday, May 31 at 6:30 pm.

The release states CFL players across the league are expected to begin practices after the league and the Canadian Football League Players’ Association reached an agreement on a new collective agreement (pending ratification) on May 18. It was agreed upon that the Saskatchewan-Winnipeg pre-season game would be rescheduled to allow both teams more time to prepare for the game.

With the new agreement, the CFL preseason action will kick off on Friday, May 27, when the Ottawa Redblacks host the Toronto Argonauts and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers take on the Edmonton Elks, followed by two games on Saturday, May 28, when the Calgary Stampeders are set to host the BC Lions and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats host the Montreal Alouettes.

The Bombers will visit Saskatchewan to take on the Roughriders on Tuesday, May 31, and will be followed by four more pre-season games on Friday, June 3: Ottawa visits the Montreal Alouettes, the Tiger-Cats visit the Argonauts, Calgary Stampeders visit the Edmonton Elks and the Riders visit the BC Lions.

The CFL’s 2022 regular season will be its first full season since 2019 and will start Thursday, June 9 when the Montreal Alouettes visit the Calgary Stampeders. On Friday, June 10, Ottawa will take on the Blue Bombers in Winnipeg. The opening weekend wraps up on Saturday, June 11 with the doubleheader: the Riders will host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the BC Lions will host the Edmonton Elks.
