Moose Jaw's Cobra Cheerleading is ready to go this season and they proved it on Saturday at their annual "Extravaganza"!

Athlete's aged 3-14 gathered inside Briercrest College to show off the new moves that they've been working hard on. Routine's were full of creative stunts, impressive tumbling and flashy dance moves.

"We put on this extravaganza at the start of all of our seasons," said Shay Schier of Cobra Cheer. "We bring all of our athletes and parents together and the kids get to do their routines in front them for the first time. It's super exciting!"

This season will be the Cobra’s eighth season and they say the club has grown every year. Approximately 80 kids are members this season.

"Cheerleading is such a great sport!" said Alyssa Boyle, who's two young daughters are both Cobra's. "It has everything! Teamwork, athletism, they learn discipline, and the kids just love it!"

"My favorite part is that we get to do cool things," said Allyssa's daugther, Annabelle. "I like doing back hand springs and stunts. And going to parties!" she added.

Lyndsay Hanson's daughter is also on the team this season. And she says her little girl has been breaking free of her shyness ever since becoming a Cobra. "It's amazing to get to see her grow in confidence and in strength. She's also learning how to make friends at school and in life."
