The Colts scored twice in the top of the seventh inning and held off the Hustlers in the bottom half of the frame to a 4-3 win in the Moose Jaw Senior Ladies Fastball League on Wednesday night.

Cenna Bruce went 3-for-4 for the Colts and drove in the eventual winning run with a single in the seventh.

The Colts scored twice in the first inning and that lead held for much of the game.

The Hustlers finally broke through in the sixth to make it 2-1, but the Colts answered with two in the top of the seventh to give themselves some cushion.

It was needed because the Hustlers sent eight hitters to the plate in the bottom of the seventh with Tanya McLean and Amanda Harper both driving in a run to cut the lead down to one, but they stranded the bases loaded to end the game.

Kim Neithercut threw a complete game to earn the win for the Colts. She allowed three runs on nine hits and two walks, while striking out one.

Krissy Russo pitched all seven innings for the Hustlers in the loss, she surrendered four runs on six hits and three walks, all of which came in the first inning. She struck out four.

This was the second straight night on the field for the Hustlers, who lost 12-5 to the Heat on Tuesday night.

The Hustlers and Heat go at it again on Thursday night at Caribou Heights. First pitch is at 6:30 p.m.
