The Colts' run of dominance continued on Thursday night as they won their seventh straight Moose Jaw Senior Ladies Fastball League title with a 3-0 win over the Hustlers at Caribou Heights.

The win gave the Colts a sweep of the best-of-five championship series against the Hustlers, who put up a good fight in all three games.

"It's always good (to win a championship), everyone played as a team and we didn't have many errors," said Colts pitcher Darby Fiddler.

The Colts have actually captured the title in 30 of 34 years for the local fastball league.

Fiddler, who is one of the younger players on the team, said she’s happy that she could be a part of the Colts' legacy.

"They're really welcoming to me, I was a little worried coming into it because I am like 30 years younger than some of them, but they're awesome girls to play with and they've welcomed me right in," said Fiddler.

"We do a lot of team bonding, away for tournaments, we're always together, after games we always celebrate even after loses and never get down on each other."

The Colts lost just once during the regular season, but Fiddler said that was key to their success for the rest of the season.

"We lost a game and we needed to and it helped us work more as a team," she said.

Fiddler went threw a complete game in Game 3 to help the Colts to the win, striking out two, while allowing just three hits and one walk.

She also came up big at the plate, driving in a run with a single during the two-run sixth inning for the Colts, which helped seal the championship.

An RBI-single from outfielder Mel Hopkinson opened the scoring in the second inning. The score stayed that way until the sixth and the Colts were able to keep the Hustlers off the board throughout the night.

Krissy Rosso took the loss on the mound for the Hustlers, allowing three runs on seven hits. She walked one.

The Colts, Hustlers and Heat will now prepare to host the 2018 Softball Saskatchewan Women's 'C' Provincial Championship next weekend. Click here for the full draw.
