It was a barnburner in the season opening game of the Moose Jaw Senior Ladies Fastball League on Monday night at Caribou Heights. Keri Legare smacked an RBI double in the top of the seventh inning to push the Colts past the Heat, 2-1.

After three scoreless innings to start the game, both teams were able to get on the board in the fourth.

Legare came around to score for the Colts, while an error allowed Ashley Blair to score for the Heat and tie the game up at 1-1.

Sandy Gray gave up one run over six innings of work on the mound for the Colts. She struck out six and walked three to pick up the win.

Amanda Robbinson took the loss for the Heat, giving up one run on one hit and a walk in the seventh inning. Kristin Gomersall started for the Heat, allowing one run on five hits, while striking out six and walking three.

The Colts will be right back on the field on Tuesday night when they square off with the Hustlers at 6:30 p.m.
