The Caronport Cougars skated to the Moose Jaw Minor Hockey Association's Peewee B Division championship on Wednesday night with a 6-3 win over the Moose Jaw Sabres.

Cooper Erickson led the way for the Cougars with a hat trick in the win, while Noah Osiowy had two goals, while Landon Sadler picked up a pair of assists. Aiden Fawcett had the other goal for the Cougars in the win.

Erickson opened the scoring with 6:05 to go in the first period and Fawcett followed him up less than a minute later to put the Cougars up by two early. The Sabres would get on the board before the period was out however as Jaxyn Rayner scored with five seconds left in the first.

The Cougars would restore their two-goal lead early in the second with a power play goal from Erickson. Just over a minute later, Osiowy scored to make it 4-1 after two.

Erickson completed the hat trick early in the third period, but Kohen Millar and Rayner found the back of the net to get the Sabres back within two, but Osiowy put his second of the night into an empty net in the final seconds to seal the win for the Cougars.

The Cougars went 4-1 during the league's double knockout playoffs with their only loss coming to the Sabres, 6-5, last Tuesday. Caronport posted a 9-6-1 record overall in league play during the regular season.
