There might not be a ton of curling action happening in southwestern Saskatchewan currently but CurlSask is looking for a coordinator from the area.

Earlier this week the provincial governing body for curling in Saskatchewan posted on social media they have an opening for the gig as one of the eight regions in the province.

Darrell McKee, membership manager with CurlSask, said the duties are pretty light but they ramp up at times throughout the year.

"Somebody who's in tune with the curling clubs in the area preferably or certainly in tune with curling," he said. "Really the job is around working with the clubs in that region and really being a liaison for CurlSask in that area."

The position would entail working with curling clubs inside the southwest area to run regional and provincial playdowns among other duties.

"Well, you really get to work with the clubs and at the grassroots (level) of working with CurlSask on what's going on in the region and what's going on with the clubs," he said. "That's probably the biggest perk and just giving back to the curling world that the person has probably been apart of for a lot of years in a lot of cases."

McKee added they'd love to get a younger individual involved with the job and potentially bring some fresh perspective and new ideas to the table.

The list of communities the individual should be from is as followed: Abbey, Assiniboia, Burstall, Central Butte, Coronach, Eastend, Fox Valley, Frontier, Glentworth, Gravelbourg, Gull Lake, Hazlet, Herbert, Lafleche, Leader, Maple Creek, Moose Jaw, Morse, Mossbank, Shaunavon, and Swift Current.
