With teams in Weyburn, Estevan and Assiniboia already and Swift Current looking to join the league this season as well, Moose Jaw has a South Saskatchewan football league forming.

Scott Montgomery with the MJMFL board said that their registration remains strong.

“We hover around the same numbers every year,” he said. “Overall our numbers are pretty steady and we’re looking for a bit of an increase this year.”

There’s some incentives to get signed up early this year.  Wednesday is your last chance to reap the benefits that the early bird registration for this year’s upcoming season in the MJMFL.

“The early bird registration is online only,” said Montgomery.  “We’ve got a couple of things going on for early bird registration this year, the Learn-to-play and Atom registration is $120 for early bird, and Peewee and Bantam is $185, so you save $50 in each division.”

There’s also an extra incentive to register early as anyone that signs up before Wednesday’s deadline will be entered into a chance to win your registration fee back, while there will also be a draw for a new Peewee or Bantam player to win their registration back as well.
