Fifteen swimmers from the Kinsmen Flying Flins participated in a provincial meet this past weekend in Saskatoon. Being only the second competition since pre-COVID, the swimmers put up strong results.

As a team, the swimmers swam 79 per cent lifetime bests after many of them swam lifetime bests only two weeks ago in Regina.

Swimming 100 per cent lifetime bests were Abby Bowles, Taylor Duncan, Rylan Montgomery, Dayna Newberry, Mateah Purdy and Elizabeth Colenutt.

The Flying Fins’ female swimmer of the meet was Dayna Newberry. She swam 100 per cent personal best times and achieved five new “A” provincial time standards.

The male swimmer of the meet was Rowan Gray, who swam five lifetime bests and took over 68 seconds off on his seven swims.

Abby Bowles was awarded the Flying Fins’ Swim of the Meet for her performance in the 200 metre free, swimming a lifetime best by 44.68 seconds.

Meanwhile, Erica Zinn placed second in the female 16 and over 50 metre backstroke.
