Estevan's Brent Gedak once again won the Saskatchewan Men's Curling Tour Stop here in Moose Jaw.

Gedak came from behind to defeat Saskatoon's Brady Kendal 9-6 at the Moose Jaw Ford Curling Centre yesterday evening.

Gedak stole two in the seventh end to seal the win, but he was down 6-3 heading into the sixth end.

“Early in the game I struggled with some draw weight that got us into some trouble and (we) got down a bit,” he said. “But the team hung around all game and battled back, and they made all their shots. So they just had some faith that I’d come back and make some shots. Then we got a three and then later we got a four, and we got back in the game quite quickly. That’s what turned around, just making some shots on the last one.”

The Moose Jaw Ford Curling Centre is like home for the Gedak rink, not only because second Derek Owens is based here.

“This is Derek’s club so he’s used to it,” Gedak said. “He helps me out with some of the ice calls and stuff. We like coming here. It’s handy for all four of us being from around this area. We just got up early in all our games, so that really helps. We got a deuce in every game except this one (final).”

Gedak rink, which includes second Derek Owens, gets 10 points on the SCT for the win but it isn't an automatic berth in the SaskTel Tankard.

Moose Jaw had several local rinks involved in the bonspiel. Andy Lloyd went 1-2. Brett Behm went 2-2 and Murray Stroeder went 0-3.
