The Midget AAA Generals fell in Wilcox to the Notre Dame Hounds 2-1 in overtime on Saturday afternoon.

Notre Dame opened the scoring when Rylee Zimmer beat Grant Naherinak midway through the first period.

The score would remain that way until just three minutes into the second period as Dakota Boutin scored on the power play for the Generals to make 1-1.  Rhett Gardner picked up the assist.

The two teams played through a scoreless third period and into overtime until Colin Burston won it for Notre Dame shorthanded just 1:22 into the extra frame.

Naherniak made 21 saves in the loss for Moose Jaw, while Alex Thibaudeau picked up the win for Notre Dame, making 15 saves.  Warriors second round pick Zach Sawchenko made 13 saves after getting the start for the Hounds.

Moose Jaw was 1-for-8 on the power play and 5-for-5 on the penalty kill.

The Generals finish off the preseason on Sunday afternoon with a return engagement with the Hounds at Mosaic Place.  Puck drops at 1:30pm.  These two teams will open the regular season in Wilcox next Saturday.
