The Moose Jaw Generals went out on a high note at the Mac's Midget AAA Tournament.

Even though the Generals missed out on the playoff round, the local squad are ending on a win after knocking off the Vancouver Northeast Chiefs, 2-0, on Wednesday in Calgary, Alberta.

Colby Entz made 34 saves to backstop the Generals to the shutout win, while Warriors prospect Connor Hayward and Jayden Davis scored in the win for Moose Jaw.

The Generals went 2-1-1 during the round robin at the annual Midget International Tournament as they just missed out on the medal round.

Moose Jaw will now prepare to head out to B.C. to take part in the Kelowna International Tournament starting on Wednesday. They don't return to league play until Jan. 13 when head to Regina to take on the Pat Canadians.

Regina is the only Saskatchewan team to qualify for the quarterfinals after going 4-0-0 during the round robin. They will play the quarters on Thursday.

Burzan and Hawks Drop Finale

Moose Jaw Warriors first round pick Luka Burzan and the Valley West Hawks dropped their first game at the Mac's Tournament in their final round robin as they lost 5-1 to the Sherwood Park Kings on Wednesday.

Warriors list player Ben Evanish opened the scoring for the Hawks early in the second period, but the Kings scored five unanswered goals for the win.

Burzan finished with two goals and four points in four games at the tournament, while Evanish had five goals for the Hawks.

Valley West went 2-1-1 and finished in a three-way tie for first in their pool, but missed out on the medal round.
