The Moose Jaw Generals opened the scoring just 31 seconds into Friday morning's meeting with the Prince Albert Mintos, but they were shutout after that.

The Mintos scored twice in the second and twice in the third on their way to a 4-1 win over the Generals in the opening game of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League’s Warman Showcase.

Cody Davis opened the scoring for the Generals in the opening minute of the game and Moose Jaw led 1-0 after one in a rematch of last week's season opener, which Prince Albert took 6-3.

Andrew Urbaniak got the Mintos on the board early in the second and Dawson Springer made it 2-1 for Prince Albert less than two minutes later.

The Mintos extended their lead with a goal from Gabe Klassen 3:53 into the third period and Chase Bertholet added an empty-net goal in the final seconds to seal the win.

Reece Hodson stopped 38-of-41 shots in the loss for Moose Jaw, while Carter Woodside turned away 25 shots for Prince Albert.

The Generals return to the ice at the Warman Showcase on Sunday to take on the Tisdale Trojans. Puck drops at 7 p.m.
