The Moose Jaw Generals continued their exhibition schedule on Wednesday night in the Queen City, falling 4-1 to the Regina Pat Canadians at the Cooperators Centre.

Steven Kesslering scored the lone goal for the Generals, just under three minutes into the third period.

The goal came just over two minutes after Brayden Shaw made it 2-0 for Regina with a goal just 21 seconds into the final frame.

Payton Jerome would restore the two-goal lead for Regina midway through the third and Chase Nameth scored into an empty net with 1:17 remaining in the game to seal the win for the Pat C’s.

Randen Schmidt had Regina’s opening goal, scoring on the power play late in the second period to break a scoreless tie.

Jake Davidson made 38 saves in the loss for the Generals, who dropped to 1-3 on the preseason with the loss.

Moose Jaw is back on the ice this weekend when they close out the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League’s preseason with a home-and-home against the Notre Dame Hounds.

The first game goes on Saturday afternoon in Wilcox and then the second game is on Sunday at Mosaic Place. Puck drops for both games at 1:30 p.m.

The Generals will open the regular season next Wednesday when they head to Swift Current to face the Legionnaires.
