Ten points out with five games to play will be a tall task for the Moose Jaw Generals to get into the post-season, but it's a task that they’re ready to try and conquer.

The Generals split their two games last weekend, which put them on the brink of elimination. They have five games remaining in the regular season, starting with Wednesday's showdown against the Notre Dame Argos in Wilcox.

"We felt like we let one slip on Sunday against the Blazers, the guys are a little bit down, it's going to be tough now with five games left, we have to win out, but there's always something to play for," said Generals head coach Ray Wareham.

In order to secure a playoff spot, the Generals will need to win all five games, which includes two against the Saskatoon Contacts, who they're chasing for eighth place in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League. They will need to win those games and also receive some help.

Whether they get into the playoffs or not, Wareham said they have some goals and playing for pride should also be a factor.

"We just want to compete and play," said Wareham. "We're hoping the guys finish strong, we're trying to get up to 16-17 wins, that's a goal that we have now and hopefully the guys will be eager to do it."

The Generals head to Wilcox to face the Argos on Wednesday, they have a big game against the Contacts on Saturday at Mosaic Place and then host the Battlefords Stars on Sunday.

Next week, the Generals will be in Saskatoon to take on the Contacts on Monday and then they finish the regular season at home against Beardy's next Wednesday.
