The Moose Jaw Generals waited until their final round robin game to get their first win at the Richmond International Midget Tournament, knocking off the Alaska Allstars 4-1 on Thursday night.

Moose Jaw fell behind in the first period on a goal by Alaska's Dylan Mcree.  "We got off to a rough start, kind of a miscue behind the net between our d-man and goalie and they got out to a 1-0 lead, but it didn't seem to faze us," said head coach Ray Wareham.

The Generals were able to tie the game up in the second period when Dayton Picard got his first of the tournament and then came to life in third getting goals from Darcy DeRoose, Cohen Yano and Trey Tendler.

Wareham says they're just starting to find their game again after the Christmas break, "We went into the break on a pretty good high and then that time off, everybody is a little bit rusty, and we found it (against Alaska) and I thought we were real good."

The Generals went 1-2-1 during the round robin and finished third in their pool.  They'll take on the South Island Thunderbirds at 2:30pm on Friday in the quarterfinals.  Click here to for live updates from that game.
