Rykr Cole unleashes a shot against the Beardy's Blackhawks.

Rykr Cole needed only 10:44 to score a hat trick against the Beardy’s Blackhawks and those three goals would be more than enough to pick up the win.

The Moose Jaw Generals cruised to an 8-2 win over the Blackhawks on Saturday night at Mosaic Place, giving them two straight wins.

Cole got Moose Jaw on the board just 32 seconds into the game, he then added to that 6:35 later with his second of the night, and he finished off the natural hat trick just past the midway point of the opening frame for a 3-0 lead.

Beardy’s would get on the board at 6:39 of the first period on a goal from Carson Boehm.

The Generals picked up a pair of shorthanded goals in the second period with Trey Tendler making 4-1 and Riley Cannon adding to the lead at 5-2 later in the frame.

The third period was all Moose Jaw as Tendler got his second of the night — this one coming on a 5-on-3 power play — Caleb Riess added to the lead under a minute later as the power play continued.  Josh Miller finished off the scoring for the Generals with under five minutes to go.

Colby Entz had a light night between the pipes, making just 11 saves for the Moose Jaw win, while Beardy’s goalie Kyle Rahier was peppered with 37 shots by the Generals.

Tendler finished with two goals and three points in his second game back from injury, while Dawson Davidson, Jared Legien, Cannon and Donovan Neuls all had two-point nights.

The win keeps the Generals four points back of the Prince Albert Mintos for third place in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League.  The Mintos will be in Moose Jaw on Sunday afternoon.  Puck drops at 1:30pm at Mosaic Place.
