Donovan Neuls led the Generals to the win with a goal and three points.

The Moose Jaw Generals opened the weekend with a hard fought win over the Regina Pat Canadians.

The fourth place Generals went into the Queen City and knocked off the sixth place Pat Canadians, 5-3, on the back of a three-point game from Donovan Neuls this afternoon.

After picking up seven points in two games last weekend – both wins – Neuls went to work again for the Generals on Saturday afternoon, scoring the opening goal and assisting on second period goals from Rykr Cole and Braydon Delorme that made it 3-1.

The Generals needed that lead as Regina scored twice in the third period, but couldn't get any closer than one goal down to Moose Jaw.  Caleb Riess made it 4-1 early in the third, but then Cohen Yano and Owen Sillinger scored for Regina to make it 4-3 with 1:50 to go.

Dawson Davidson sealed the win for Moose Jaw with an empty net goal just 42 seconds later.

Colby Entz made 25 saves for the Generals in the win, while Cole added a goal and assist to chip in on the win.  Cole and Neuls have combined for 19 points in the past three games for the Generals.  Moose Jaw Warriors prospect Jayden Halbgewachs had two assists in the loss for Regina.

Moose Jaw has won three straight games now as they get set to head to Wilcox on Sunday afternoon for a meeting with the Notre Dame Hounds, who were the last team to beat the Generals, 4-3, last Thursday.
